Racial Equity & Justice Nonprofit Organization

Racial Equity & Justice Organization is located in Wabanaki territory (Maine), but our services are offered to anyone from anywhere. Our focus work is the following four pillars: community care, community safety, community education, community building. At the foundation of those pillars are equity, racial justice, inclusion, healing, culture, & decolonization. We have programs created and operated by BIPOC for BIPOC. In addition, our services are offered to individuals, organizations, government agencies, institutions, academic spaces, businesses, & coalitions.

Our non-profit does mutual aid work to support the growth and reclamation of cultural traditions, earth activism and community health. Using a trauma-informed lens, we offer holistic cultural pathways for BIPOC healing through community and relationship building.

  • We offer empowering workshops, social services, community programs, and cultural activities that help create space for healing with a focus on survivors of racial violence, sexual assault, discrimination, poverty, cultural and physical genocide, intergenerational trauma, and those recovering from incarceration.

  • We do mutual aid work with our sister organizations to allocate resources to individuals struggling with housing and food insecurity, and substance abuse disorders.

  • Our workshops support people doing decolonization work, reclaiming traditions, developing community leadership, and harnessing their ancestral power in order to thrive safely within and beyond Euro-American settler systems.

  • We offer resources and professional development workshops to support BIPOC organizations and businesses. We understand that our racial identities intersect with class, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, age, religion & spirituality, and culture, therefore we will do everything it takes to inform our workshops with intersectional support & education.
